Meet our Conductor
Dr. Jennifer Compton Lambert
Jennifer Compton Lambert has been Director of Bands at River Trail Middle School in Johns Creek, Georgia, since 2007. Under her direction, the River Trail Bands consistently earn superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations. Moreover, the River Trail Symphonic Band has appeared as a guest performing ensemble at the 2010, 2019, and 2024 Georgia Music Educators In-Service Conference, the 2011 and 2023 University of Georgia Middle School Band Festival, the 2018 Reinhardt University Middle School Honor Band Clinic and the 2013 Music for All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Symphonic Band was also a recipient of the Exemplary Performance Award in 2011 and 2018.
Dr. Lambert is the founder and Musical Director of Quintet Envy, an ensemble based at Northview High School and includes former River Trail Middle School clarinetists. The group founded in 2021, has performed at the 2023 Georgia Music Educators In-Service Conference and the 2024 Music for All National Chamber Music Festival.
Dr. Lambert received her Bachelor of Music Education in 2002 from Berry College, where she studied trumpet with Dr. William Robison. In 2007, she completed her Master of Music Education and in 2016 received her Doctor of Education from the University of Georgia. She began her teaching career in 2003 as the Assistant Director of Bands at Woodstock High School, Woodstock, Georgia.
Her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, Georgia Music Educators Association, National Band Association, Phi Beta Mu, International Trumpet Guild, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Omicron Delta Kappa.
Additionally, having been awarded the Citation of Excellence from the National Band Association in 2010, 2012, 2019, 2023 and 2024 for her contributions to music education, Dr. Lambert serves as a guest clinician and conductor throughout the Southeast. She was also chosen as the Georgia Music Educators Association’s District V Music Educator of the Year and River Trail Middle School’s Teacher of the Year for 2023-24.
Dr. Lambert resides in Cumming, Georgia, with her husband and children.
