Math Department

Meet the Teachers

Jisu Chanthaphonh: My name is Mrs. Chanthaphonh, and this is my twentieth-year teaching Mathematics. I am originally from Seoul, South Korea. I currently live in Cumming with my husband, two kids who are 8th and 11th graders, and a dog named Stella. I graduated from GSU and KSU with a master’s degree in Math Education. I am also a certified Gifted Math Teacher. As a Seventh-Grade teacher, it is gratifying to watch students experience more responsibility and more freedom as they transition from a static, elementary school, learning environment. I have extremely high expectations for all my students and find they always rise to meet (and sometimes exceed) those expectations. I know that it will be an amazing year! Kelly Tetreault: I have been teaching at River Trail Middle School for 24 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education with a concentration in math and language arts from the University of North Georgia. I have taught sixth-grade, seventh-grade, and eighth-grade math at RTMS. I am the math department chair, the Mathcounts coach, and I have been at RTMS since it opened in 2001. I have a wonderful husband, a child in elementary, and two in high school this year. I enjoy tennis, kayaking, and spending time with my family and friends.  E-mail: tetreault@fultonschools.org

Austin McClinton:  Hi, my name is Austin McClinton, this is my 1st year at River Trail Middle School and my 9th year teaching mathematics.  I have my B.S. in Middle Grades Math and M.A. in School Leadership from Baylor University in Waco, TX.  My wife and I just recently moved to Roswell, GA from Waco to be closer to family.  We love being outdoors, going for a walk/hike and playing pickleball.  As a teacher, I prioritize building relationships, creating a positive learning environment, and providing opportunities for each student to maximize their learning through various forms of extension/remediation.  I’m excited for a wonderful school year and happy to be a part of the Wolf Pack! Email: mcclintona@fultonschools.org

Jacinth Warner: “The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple.” ~ S. Gudder (9 + 19 = 28) Where have the years gone? I have enjoyed 9 amazing years as an elementary teacher and 19 incredible years as a middle school math teacher. My name is Jacinth K. Warner and I will be your child’s 7th-grade math teacher. I am a mother of three who enjoys hosting events and cooking. My three kids are former students of River Trail Middle School and Northview High School. We moved to Johns Creek in 2004 after living in Fayetteville, North Carolina for 7 years. I look forward to your continued support as I prepare your child for 8th-grade math and beyond! 😊  Email: warnerjk@fultonschools.org
