Ms. Sherman
Kanisha Sherman has more than 20 years of experience in education. She previously taught at Sandtown and Renaissance Middle School in Fulton County. Prior to education, she was a video editor in the sports department at CNN. In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano, painting furniture, taking road trips, watching sports, and hanging with my friends and family. She recently started collecting crystals and has more 128 in her collection. Her favorites are Peach Moonstone, Amazonite and Blue Apatite.
Ms. Crowson
Hi Everyone,
I have been an educator for 18 years - born and raised in the great state of Georgia and have lived in Atlanta for the last 27 years. I have a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern New Hampshire University. I love to paint and am fascinated by old relics and antiques (I am certain I've been here in another life). My favorite color is pink and my favorite place is the beach. Most of all, I have two adult sons who are the light of my life.
Ms. Coates
Hello! My name is Nia Coates, and this is my fifth year teaching math. I am thrilled to be teaching Algebra and Geometry this year. I earned my degree in Mathematics from Agnes Scott College and completed my Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Secondary Math Education from Georgia State University. At Georgia State, I was honored to receive the Excellence in Mathematics Teaching Award from the College of Education Human Development.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and playing soccer. In college, I had the privilege of serving as the captain of my soccer team. Additionally, I love relaxing at home with my orange cat, Fire Lord Ozai. It is my goal to prepare students to be critical thinkers and to build their mathematical confidence. I look forward to an exciting and productive year ahead!
