SAVANNAH FIELD TRIP
As an enrichment activity related to the 8th Grade Georgia Studies course, River Trail Middle School will be offering an overnight field trip with guided tours and programs on February 12, 2026, to Savannah and Milledgeville, Georgia. Motor coaches will leave River Trail on Thursday morning (02/12/2026) at 7:00 AM and return on Friday afternoon (02/13/2026) at approximately 5:00 PM. The faculty and staff of RTMS will be chaperoning the trip. The tentative itinerary includes guided tours and activities in Savannah at River Street, Student Militia Program at Fort Jackson, the Georgia Queen River Boat, and on Friday travel to Milledgeville for a tour of the Governor’s Mansion, a Smithsonian Affiliate Museum, and eat lunch at Georgia College and State University.
The cost of the trip is $315.00; this includes transportation model, luxury motor coaches, meals, (vegetarian, and vegan options), ranger led tours/activities at sites, additional tour guides that travel with the group throughout the trip, and all tips and gratuities. Because the travel company must make deposits to the motor coach company, venue sites, and any food service company, the final date for payment for the trip is December 1st via APLUS Tour Company website.
